Jewellery Care
Treated well, these pieces outlive all of us. Here is how to keep them looking the way they did on day one.

01Everyday habits
Jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
- Wear it after perfume, hairspray, lotion and makeup have settled.
- Take it off before bathing, swimming, sleeping or working out.
- Remove rings and bangles before cooking, cleaning or gardening.
- Keep it away from chlorine, bleach and household cleaners — they dull gold and damage stones.
02Storing your pieces
Store each piece separately in the pouch or box it came in. Gold is soft, and pieces rubbing together is the most common cause of scratches.
- Hang or lay chains and mangalsutras flat so they do not knot.
- Keep pearls and emeralds away from other metal — they scratch easily.
- Choose a dry place; humidity dulls the polish over time.
03Cleaning at home
For plain gold, soak in lukewarm water with a drop of mild dish soap for a few minutes, brush gently with a soft toothbrush, rinse and pat dry with a soft cloth.
Never use toothpaste, baking soda, hot water or an ultrasonic cleaner at home — especially on pearls, kundan, meenakari or glued stones. Bring those to us instead.
04Pearls and delicate stones
Wipe pearls with a soft, slightly damp cloth after each wear and let them dry fully before storing. Pearls need a little air, so avoid sealed plastic bags.
Kundan and meenakari work should never be soaked — moisture loosens the lac and setting.
